Experimentation seems to be at the heart of the label’s creative direction, as they call upon a number of artists and designers for the production of their collections and runway shows.
It isn’t until 2003 that the label begin to offer menswear and shoes, a move which brings Gaspard Yurkievich more widespread success, and leads to the launch of an accessories range – oversized bags, visors and lurex tights decorate the shelves of their first store, opened in Paris in 2005.
Gaspard Yurkievich’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection, however, will be the defining point for the fashion label. With vintage fabrics borrowed from the 80s, loose stockings, ultra-miniskirts and deconstructed dresses, Gaspard Yurkievich secure their position as pioneers in the fashion world.
